Edmonton Oilers Reach Stanley Cup Final After Game 5 Win

McDavid Scores OT Winner, Skinner Shuts Down Stars

Connor McDavid had a goal and assisted another as the Oilers beat the Dallas Stars 2-1 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night. It was a huge win for the Oilers, who are now one game away from reaching their first Stanley Cup Finals since 2006.

McDavid's Big Game

McDavid was the star for the Oilers in the win, scoring his team's first goal on a power play in the first period. He then assisted on Zach Hyman's game-tying goal in the third period, and McDavid's assist was the primary helper on the goal.

In overtime, McDavid took the puck on a rush and beat Dallas' John Klingberg before scoring the game-winning power play goal and sending the Oilers to the brink of the Stanley Cup Final.

Skinner's Strong Performance

Stuart Skinner was also a star for the Oilers in Game 5, making 34 saves to keep the Stars at bay. Skinner was especially strong in the third period, stopping several high-danger chances from the Stars to keep the Oilers in the game.

Oilers One Win Away

The Oilers are now one win away from reaching the Stanley Cup Final. They will have a chance to close out the series on Saturday night with Game 6 at home.
